This wonderful wallhanging is called "Chunky”.
I've been busy in my 9 month long baby-bubble, and while my hands have been occupied, it hasn't stopped my mind from running wild with ideas for new pieces and textures. My fingers have been itching to start working with this braided chunky rope that's been calling me from the shelf for months. Finally I had the time to bury myself in it. 400 meters of it to be more exact. It is heavy, it is soft, it is squishy, it is perfect. The rope itself was a huge inspiration and I knew I wanted to use it to create some kind of a "rope painting". This is how it turned out. I absolutely adore it. It would fit så well on a gallerywall, or a slim wall, or anywhere. I'm seriously moving it around all the time, so we get to enjoy it in every room. Geeky? Sure! ;)
This piece is made from OEKO-tex certified braided cotton string (9 mm).
